How to get to Granåsen

Upon arrival at the train station in Trondheim S, there is a short distance to the shuttle bus heading to Granåsen.
The bus company AtB operates shuttle buses directly from Trondheim city center to Granåsen. From the Trondheim S train station, it’s only a five-minute walk to Munkegata, where the shuttle buses depart. At the station, there will be signage and staff available to assist with information.
When returning home, take the shuttle bus back to Midtbyen. On the return trip, you can get off at Tonstadkrysset, Lerkendal, or Nidarosdomen (city center).
Where to buy the ticket
You need a valid AtB ticket, which you can purchase in the AtB app or via SMS. You can use the same ticket for both the train and the shuttle bus for trips that start and end within Zone A in Trøndelag. For journeys outside Zone A, you must purchase a separate ticket with AtB. You can download the AtB app or send an SMS to get a ticket.

FAQ
If the train is very full, it is helpful if you position yourself near an exit well in advance of your stop to ensure you can get off at the right station. Also, remember to let passengers disembark before boarding.
Fortunately, there are many standing places available on our trains. Please be considerate of children, the elderly, and others who may need the seat more than you. If you are on a long journey, it can be nice to take turns using the seats.
Some local train departures may become very crowded during the Nordic Ski World Championships, and the trains may reach full capacity. Check alternative departures and other means of transportation at Entur.no or in the app, where you can also find AtB bus schedules.
You are allowed to bring your skis aboard the train. If you are traveling on the local train on the Trønder railway (between Steinkjer and Trondheim), you must hold them in your hand during the journey to ensure safety. On long-distance trains, please check with the conductor before boarding.
AtB, which operates the shuttle buses to Granåsen, recommends taking regular bus routes to Granåsen if you are bringing skis. AtB suggests routes 2 or 16, both of which stop at Husebytunet. This is because there is no space for skis on the shuttle buses.
You may bring strollers, skis and other larger items aboard, as long as they comply with our requirement. Read more here.

There are a limited number of child seats available on the buses. We recommend that everyone who has their own booster seat bring it along, or a child seat if you have small children who need one.
For children over the age of 3, the requirement is that the child uses a standard seatbelt properly. If your child needs a booster seat, we recommend bringing your own, as we only have a limited number available on the buses.
For details on child safety in buses, we refer to the regulations outlined by the Norwegian Public Roads Administration (Statens Vegvesen) on their website. We place great emphasis on safety and always strive to ensure a secure journey for both young and old.
